Last month we featured multiple workshops every weekend, which was great because we had some of the worst weekend weather in May that I can remember. I’m glad we were able to provide you with a warm, dry studio to take challenging classes and workshops! But as I like to say, every day is a good day to take a dance or fitness class at Albany Dance & Fitness (ADF).

I had the pleasure of participating in the American Theatrical Jazz Dance series, taught by Allen Fields. He immersed us in the Fosse style of dance, which includes rounded shoulders, turned-in legs and sultry hip moves. That’s a very different way of moving than what I’m used to, so my brain and body got a workout during class, and I felt it afterwards! Everyone enjoyed the series, so we’re thinking of holding another one in the near future.

At this time of year, many dance and fitness studios take a break or limit the number of classes they offer. That’s not the case with Albany Dance & Fitness! Classes are ongoing with some minor changes, and once again we have a variety of workshops to choose from throughout the summer months.

We’re also gearing up for our 15th anniversary of ADF, which is in July. We are planning several celebratory events, and we will let you know as soon as the details are finalized. I’m very excited about this and can’t wait to share the news.
