I don’t know about you but it seems like July has just flown by, again! I guess summer months usually do that. July of course is traditionally when New York City Ballet (NYCB) comes to Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC). I enjoyed the NYCB season at SPAC this year, but my favorite night was one I got to share with a group of my students from Albany Dance & Fitness. It was a magical night of dance and fun to be together outside the studio.
Luckily for me, that wasn’t the only performance I got to take in while NYCB was in town. And you might have noticed that I added some NYCB inspired steps in my ballet classes. Of course, the company dancers make it look effortless and easy, but we know better. Still, I think it’s important to challenge ourselves now and then.
I plan to catch more dance performances this summer at other area venues and hope that some of you get to do the same. Seeing live dance always inspires me and hopefully it will energize your dancing as well!
