As many of you know, Albany Dance & Fitness is now three years old, thanks to the support of all our wonderful students. To celebrate this milestone, and to thank you, we once again hosted an open house. Newcomers to the studio, current students, and instructors all joined in to try a variety of abbreviated classes.
We’ve done this five times now and all the open houses have been well attended and a lot of fun. I get the biggest smile when I see people having a great time, while getting fit and moving to the mix of music our instructors play.
I love having the chance to offer many types of classes and events at the studio. Of course there is a limit to how many classes I can teach, so I’m lucky to have found so many excellent teachers that share my philosophy on dance & fitness.
As we enter our fourth fall season, we’ve added more classes to the schedule. In addition to all our regular classes, we’ve lined up four special Saturday workshops, starting on September 27th.
I hope you are as excited as I am about these workshops as I think they offer something for everyone.
• Women’s Self Defense Level I, 9/27/14, 1:00-3:00pm Empower yourself!
• Women’s Self Defense Level II 10/4/14, 1:00-3:00pm For those that took Level I on 9/27/14 or one of our other previous Women’s Self Defense Workshops
• Hip Opening Workshop 10/18/14, 1:30-3:00 Increase circulation to the lower portion of the body, ease back pain, and expand range of motion.
• Ballet Master Class with David Otto 10/25/14, 1:30-3:00, Intermediate/Advanced Level.
I knew that when I opened Albany Dance and Fitness, that it was going to be a lot of work, but I never would have guessed how much fun it would be. From the minute I wake up, till the time I go to bed, I’m thinking about what to do next and how to improve the experience for my students. Believe it or not, I spend more time working at my computer for the studio than I do teaching there.
My next big goal for the studio is to fill in all the open slots during the day. There are too many hours during the day when the studio is dark, so I’ve got to find more daytime classes for the schedule. I’d love to hear your ideas for classes and ways that I can improve the studio. Please leave me a comment below or on our Facebook page. And thanks again for all your support!
