If you are looking for a holiday gift for the dancer or dance enthusiast, here are some ideas (most of these are on my list):
Dance Calendar – The Dancers Among Us wall calendar is new this year, although it does have some of the photos that were used in the popular book. Each month you’ll get to celebrate life through a dance photo!
Dancing Through It: My Journey in the Ballet, by Jennifer Ringer. This book is not available until February, but you can pre-order it now. Jennifer Ringer, Principal Dancer with the New York City Ballet (and will be retiring in February), shares behind the scenes insight into her life as a dancer.
Foam Roller- Using a foam roller before or after exercise can help prevent injuries and speed up muscle recovery time. There are a variety of foam rollers out there, so it here’s some information to help you pick the right one.
Leg Warmers- Any dancer loves leg warmers (I never seem to have enough of them). For something different, there is a pair with the New York City Ballet logo embroidered on them.
Cookbook – The National Dance Week Foundation has a cookbook for dancers called Barre Food. Try recipes from dance legends plus enjoy beautiful dance photos.
Dance Membership – for the Capital Region dance enthusiast, a membership to the Capital District Dance Alliance will keep them informed of dance events, classes, auditions, and performances in the area.
