There’s something special about taking a ballet master class with a professional dancer. You get to hear ‘behind the scenes’ stories about life as a professional dancer. And they offer tips on performing and different solutions for perfecting dance technique.
This spring the Capital District has two opportunities to take a ballet master class with Miranda Weese, who was a principal dancer with New York City Ballet and a guest artist with Pacific Northwest Ballet. She will be teaching class at Albany Dance & Fitness on Sunday, March 24, 2013, 4:45-6:00pm and at the Dance Alliance Dance+23 festival on Sunday, April 14, 2013, 3:30-4:00pm.
Want to know more about Miranda Weese? Here’s an informative 2008 interview, Moments With Miranda, by Ballet-Dance.com magazine. It will give you a chance to become familiar with her dance training history and her perspective on dancing with two very different prestigious ballet companies.
After retiring from ballet, Miranda turned to other forms of exercise to stay in shape. She is a certified Zumba instructor and co-owner of Zume Fitness. This brand new fitness facility, located in Saratoga Springs, NY, specializes in Aerial Arts/fitness, Zumba, cycle, yoga and many other exciting group fitness classes.
