I’m very excited to announce that Albany Dance & Fitness is now offering Essentrics™ classes! I was notified last week that I am now certified to teach the class. A lot of work, study, and practice went into gaining my certification. One of the requirements to become certified was to teach 26 apprentice classes. I was very lucky to have many students from Athleta Crossgates and my studio, who were willing to take the class. Those early ones were not so polished, as I was learning the pre-choreographed routine, and admittedly, I made my share of mistakes. But those students must have liked it, because you stuck with it, and for your help, I am so very grateful.
So, what is Essentrics™?
It’s a dynamic workout which activates all the muscles in your body. The choreography in the routines, help to free your joints, increases range of motion, and mobility. The full-body technique works through your muscle chains to liberate, and empowering your muscles. It helps to relieve muscle tension, which contributes to making you feel more energetic.
Essentrics™ draws on the flowing movements of tai chi, which create health and balance, the strengthening theories behind ballet, which creates long, lean, flexible muscles, and the healing principles of physiotherapy, which create a pain free body.
The workout dynamically combines strengthening, and stretching to develop a strong toned body, with the complete ability of moving each joint, and muscle freely, through a full range of motion.
