SUMMARY:American Theatrical Jazz with Allen Fields
DESCRIPTION:Allen Fields will bring his knowledge of American Musical Theater Jazz to three workshops. Fields studied and lived at one time with Broadway legend Gwen Verdon learning the styles of jazz icons of her time. Fields most recently was the Director of Creative Development for The Verdon Fosse Legacy and was instrumental in the successful international summer dance program in Manhattan. Class will begin with a traditional classic jazz warmup\, then to center exercises and center choreographic work on a theatrical piece that covers classic styles and will be developed in the three classes. To fully benefit from this class\, it is recommended that one takes all three as the class builds each week progressively. \nWorkshop Dates: Sunday 5/3\, 5/17\, & 5/31\nTime: 1:30-3:oopm \nTuition: $100(Series) or $37 (Single Class) \nRegister for the series of three classes at American Theatrical Jazz Series

DESCRIPTION:Contemporary ballet combines the classical ballet foundation with both modern and jazz dance. Here is your chance to use classical ballet technique\, but at the same time let go of the restrictions of the classical ballet line to feel a greater range of movement. Class will begin with barre work to increase strength and flexibility. More expressive movement will be introduced in the center work\, across the floor combinations\, and choreography. \nThis is an advanced beginner level class.
